U of R tour

Well today we went to the U of R to see their lab. I found the lab tour very interesting because it was partially about some of the things I am interested in, the brain. I took AP Psychology this year and that's all we learned about and I found all the information today very interesting. But the one thing I didn't like about the tour was the mouse blood diffusing thing. YUCK! The intern took the drugged up mouse, taped it down, cut open its organs and all this blood starting coming out. She was trying to diffuse all of it's blood so she could remove its brain. But the thing is, that it was still alive! I mean I wish they would have killed it first so it wouldn't have to die like that. And the most disgusting part was watching all of its organs sort of convulse in and out of its open stomach. It was gross. Normally I don't get grossed out by that stuff at all, like I can handle blood, I have a strong stomach. But this, I could not handle. After blood started oozing out, I felt my face get extremely hot and I started to sweat. I had to step away. I couldn't watch anymore. That poor mouse! =(

Anyways besides that gruesome sight, the tour was very interesting and informative. I liked it.

When we got back, I processed some film and scanned images. But I have to leave early for a doctors appointment so I didn't really have time to do much today. Maybe tomorrow.
