Fast Day

Today was probably the fastest working day of this internship. This morning, all of us interns went over to the Louise Slaughter Building and had breakfast and had an introduction from the Dean of the College of Science. After that, I came back and finished the analysis I was working on yesterday. Then I went back for a presentation on the role of seventeen magazine on female adolescent self-image: images of models and their impact. This was very interesting to me because seventeen is my favorite magazine, it's like my bible. Anyways after that I processed some more film. After lunch I worked on more analysis and scanned more images onto the computer. Then I went to two back-to-back presentations. The first one was identity formation and expression through baggy clothing in the inner-city African-American adolescent male. I know it sounds kind of dumb but it wasn't really all about the baggy pants. It was about the fact that cops often search African-Americans more so than whites. It is an ongoing issue in today's society. I thought it was pretty interesting. After that I watch the dream, the reality, the actions: a study of changing American values and attitudes in the 21st century. This one was alright I guess. (If anyone can't tell by reading this, I'm really into sociology). But that was pretty much my day. And now for the weekend!
